About This Policy

EasyPay Assist ("we", "our", or "the app") is a UPI payment coordination tool developed by GeekyWebTech. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and how we protect it.

EasyPay Assist does not process payments directly. The app only facilitates communication and coordination between trusted users. Actual payments are completed externally using third-party UPI applications such as Google Pay, PhonePe, or Paytm.

By using EasyPay Assist, you agree to the practices described in this policy.

Information We Collect

  • Account details — your name, email address, and mobile number when you register.
  • Payment request data — merchant name, UPI ID, amount, request status, and timestamps.
  • Location Optional — GPS coordinates attached to each payment request you create. Never tracked in the background.
  • Camera Required — used only to scan UPI QR codes. No photos are stored without your action.
  • Contacts Optional — phone numbers from your address book are checked against our server to find which contacts are registered on EasyPay Assist. Raw contact names and numbers are never stored on our servers.
  • Payment proof images — screenshots you voluntarily upload as proof of a completed UPI payment.
  • OCR data — the app may process uploaded screenshots using on-device OCR (Google ML Kit) to extract transaction reference numbers, UPI IDs, amounts, merchant names, and dates.
  • Device token (FCM) — a Firebase Cloud Messaging token used to deliver push notifications to your device.

How We Use Your Information

  • To create and manage your account
  • To send and receive payment requests between users
  • To deliver push notifications for payment activity
  • To tag payment requests with location for your own records
  • To find your contacts who are already on EasyPay Assist
  • To verify completed payments via uploaded proof images
  • To send email verification and password reset codes
  • To prevent fraud, abuse, or unauthorized access
  • To improve app functionality and security

We do not sell personal information to third parties.

Payment Disclaimer

EasyPay Assist does not process payments directly and does not store:

  • Bank account passwords or UPI PINs
  • Debit or credit card details
  • Internet banking credentials

The app only facilitates coordination between trusted users. Actual payments are completed externally using third-party UPI applications.

Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with any third party for marketing purposes.

  • Firebase (Google) — used for push notifications (FCM) only.
  • Google Maps — used to display a static map pin for transaction locations. Only latitude/longitude of your request is sent.
  • Google ML Kit — on-device OCR processing. No image data is sent to Google servers.
  • No other third parties receive your personal data.

Data Security

  • All communication between the app and our server uses HTTPS (TLS encryption).
  • Your authentication token is stored in Android Keystore encrypted storage — never in plain text.
  • Payment requests are private — visible only to you and the person you assign.
  • Passwords are hashed and never stored in plain text.

Permissions Used

  • Camera Required — QR code scanning and proof screenshot uploads
  • Location Optional — tagging payment requests with GPS coordinates
  • Contacts Optional — finding registered EasyPay Assist users in your contacts
  • Notifications Required — payment request alerts and status updates
  • Storage / Photos Optional — saving QR codes to device gallery

Data Retention & Deletion

Your data is retained for as long as your account is active. You may request deletion of your account and all associated data at any time using one of the following methods:

Deletion requests submitted through the app are processed immediately. Email requests are processed within 7 business days. Certain records may be retained temporarily for fraud prevention, legal compliance, and security purposes.

Children's Privacy

EasyPay Assist is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with their data, please contact us immediately.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the effective date at the top of this page. Continued use of the app after changes means you accept the updated policy.
