This Privacy Policy explains how TrackiFi (hereinafter referred to as "the App", "We", "Us", or "Our") collects, uses, discloses, and protects your information when you use our mobile application. We are committed to protecting and respecting the privacy of our Users.

By using the TrackiFi App, you are accepting the practices described in this Privacy Policy. This Privacy Policy forms part and parcel of the Terms of Use of the TrackiFi App.

Information We Collect

The information about the User as collected by the App falls under (a) information supplied by users and (b) information automatically tracked with user consent while using a mobile device having TrackiFi App services enabled (collectively referred to as “Information”).

a) Information Supplied by Users:

To avail certain services on the TrackiFi App, users are required to provide some personally identifiable information for the registration process which may include:

• Your name
• Email address (if collected for password recovery or updates)
• Phone number (for registration and OTP verification)
• Access to your phone’s SMS inbox records (with your explicit consent, for transaction tracking)
• Information related to your bank accounts or cards (such as bank name, card type, last four digits of account/card number, account holder name, if you manually add them)
• Financial plans or budgets you create within the app
• Information about debts or events you track
• Any other such information as required for specific app features, which will be communicated to you.

The Information as supplied by the users enables us to improve TrackiFi App Services and provide the most user-friendly experience. All required information is service dependent and We may use the above-said user Information to maintain, protect, and improve the TrackiFi App Services and for developing new services.

TrackiFi App may request limited access (one-time or as provided by the User) to services like Camera or Microphone for specific use cases in the app like uploading bills (if such a feature is implemented) or for future KYC requirements. Such access will only be taken with the explicit consent of the User, and the specific use of the data will be clearly communicated to the User.

Any reviews, comments, or messages posted/uploaded by users on public sections of an Application Store (like the Google Play Store) become published content and are not considered personally identifiable information subject to this Privacy Policy.

In case you choose to decline to submit personally identifiable information or withdraw consent for necessary permissions on the TrackiFi App, We may not be able to provide certain services on the App to you. We will make reasonable efforts to notify you of the same at the appropriate time. In any case, We will not be liable and or responsible for the denial of certain services to you due to lack of providing the necessary personal information or permissions.

b) Information Tracked with Consent and Information Automatically Tracked While Using App:

SMS Inbox Information:

The TrackiFi App collects financial transaction data by reading SMS messages from your device's SMS inbox, but only after obtaining your explicit consent to access the SMS inbox. The App is designed to read messages that appear to be transactional, typically from alphanumeric senders (e.g., banks, card issuers). We strive to ignore personal messages and do not read or store OTPs (One-Time Passwords) for login or transaction authorization purposes from your SMS inbox on our servers.

The collection of such information from SMS is limited to details typically found in transactional messages, such as merchant names, transaction amounts, dates, and the last few digits of your card or account number. TrackiFi may also record the identity of the product or service and the price or fee paid or payable in respect thereof based on SMS data.

Device and Usage Information:

We may collect device-specific information (such as your hardware model, operating system version, unique device identifiers, and mobile network information). We may also collect information about how you use the App, such as features utilized and frequency of use, to improve our services.

Demographic and Related Information (Analytics):

We may use analytics services (like Google Analytics or similar tools) to understand app usage, user demographics, and interests in an aggregated and anonymized manner. This helps us improve the App and user experience. These reports are anonymous and cannot be associated with any individual personally identifiable information you may have shared with us. You may be able to opt-out of certain analytics tracking through settings provided by the analytics services or your device.

By using the TrackiFi App and/or by providing the above information, you consent to the collection, sharing, disclosure, and usage of the information by Us in accordance with this Privacy Policy, other than for specific information that is collected and used based on your explicit consent as outlined herein.

How We Use Your Information

Access to personal information is strictly restricted and shared in accordance with certain specific internal procedures and safeguards that govern access. We use the collected Information in the following ways:

• For login, account verification (via phone number and OTP), and password recovery (if an email is provided).
• To automatically track and categorize your expenses based on SMS data (with your consent).
• To enable you to manage budgets, track debts, and monitor event-specific spending.
• To provide you with financial insights, summaries, and reports within the App.
• To monitor, improve, and administer the App and the quality of our services.
• To analyze how the App is used, diagnose service or technical problems, and maintain security.
• To remember information to help you effectively access the App.
• To monitor aggregate metrics such as total number of views, visitors, traffic, and demographic patterns.
• To notify you about changes or updates to the App or its services.
• To enable Us to comply with applicable legal and regulatory obligations.
• For sending administrative notices, service-related alerts, and other similar communications to optimize the efficiency of the App.
• For market research, troubleshooting, protection against error, project planning, fraud, and other criminal activity.
• To reinforce TrackiFi’s Terms of Use.
• To fulfill our internal checks and other risk parameters.
• To maintain effective communication regarding the services availed by you, including transaction information, updates/changes to features, and customer assistance.
• For marketing purposes, to promote the services of the App and to notify you about new product/service offerings, only with your consent where required by law (with an option to subscribe/unsubscribe where feasible). We may use your email address or phone number (if provided and consented to for this purpose) for non-marketing or administrative purposes (such as notifying you of major changes, for customer service, providing information about updates, etc.).

TrackiFi may present information related to user spends, patterns, and user data tracked by Us only in the form of aggregated and anonymized statistics (e.g., user spends by category, date, time) within our App or to our partners for analytical purposes. No personally identifiable data of an individual user such as name, phone number, email address, specific spend data, or card details would be shared with any other User and/or third party for their independent use without your explicit approval, unless as required to fulfill Our legal and regulatory obligations.

Non-Disclosure of Information

TrackiFi pledges that it shall not sell or rent Users’ personal information to anyone for marketing purposes. We will protect your personal information and maintain its confidentiality. We may share your personal information only in the following limited circumstances:

• With service providers, contractors, or agents who perform services on Our behalf, under strict confidentiality agreements, and only to the extent necessary for them to provide these services (e.g., cloud hosting, analytics).
• To comply with applicable laws, regulations, legal processes, or governmental requests. If We are required to disclose your information to governmental and other statutory bodies, We will do so only if they have appropriate authorization.
• To enforce or apply our Terms of Use or to protect the rights, property, or safety of TrackiFi, our Users, or others. This may include exchanging information with other companies/agencies for fraud prevention and credit risk reduction.
• In connection with a merger, acquisition, reorganization, sale of assets, or bankruptcy. In such an event, user information may be one of the transferred assets. We will notify you of such a change in ownership or control of your personal information.

We shall ensure that in case of disclosure of whole or part of your information to a service provider or agent, they are bound by obligations of confidentiality at least as strict as Our obligations under this Privacy Policy, and the information is accorded a similar level of protection.

Information Storage and Security

We take the security of our User’s information very seriously. We implement reasonable and appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your information against loss, theft, unauthorized access, disclosure, reproduction, use, or amendment. This includes measures like encryption of data at rest and in transit (e.g., using HTTPS for API communications).

Information that is collected from you may be transferred to, and stored at, secure servers located within India (or your region as per applicable laws). By submitting information, you agree to this transfer, storing, and/or processing.

If enabled from the App, we may take a backup of your data on our secure cloud database. This is done for the purpose of enabling users to get their data back in case their phone’s data becomes unusable, if the phone is lost, or the user moves to a new phone device. We also use this backup to provide useful insights and information related to your spends and to provide information in the form of aggregated and anonymized statistics.

TrackiFi does not ask for or store full debit/credit card numbers, CVV, or net banking passwords within the App's primary expense tracking flow through SMS. If any feature in the future requires more sensitive details (e.g., for direct bank linking, which is currently not indicated), it will be done with your explicit consent and through secure, compliant mechanisms.

While We strive to use commercially acceptable means to protect your personal information, no method of transmission over the Internet or method of electronic storage is 100% secure. Therefore, the use of the App will be at your own risk. We assume no liability for any disclosure of information due to errors in transmission, unauthorized third-party access, or other acts of third parties, or acts or omissions beyond Our reasonable control. You agree not to hold Us responsible for any breach of security unless such breach has been caused as a direct result of Our gross negligence or willful default.

In the event We become aware of any breach of the security of your information, We will promptly notify you as required by applicable law and take appropriate action to the best of Our ability to remedy such a breach.

Cookies and Similar Technologies (Website - If Applicable)

If TrackiFi operates an associated website, it may use cookies (small data files stored on your browser) or similar technologies to enhance user experience, analyze site usage, and for other operational purposes.
